Keep your whole track, not just the last 1,000 points.

Without Track Loading, Greenalp keeps only your most recent 1,000 track points and deletes older ones. With it, your history is stored — up to 1,000,000 points — so you can load past trips, download them, and show longer tracks to the people you share with.

Do I need it?

When it helps, and when it doesn't.

You need it for

  • Trips longer than 1,000 points

At one point a minute, 1,000 points are about 17 hours; at one every 5 seconds, less than an hour and a half.

  • Looking back, or keeping a file

Load any past day on your map, or download it as GPX, KML, KMZ or CSV.

  • A multi-day journey for your guests

Show the last few days on your personal link, or a whole trip on a custom link.

You don't need it for

  • Only your live position

If people just need to see where you are right now, the free app does that.

  • Short trips

If your trips fit in the last 1,000 points — a day hike at one point a minute does.

  • Getting old tracks back

It stores from the moment it is active. Points deleted before that cannot be brought back.

Good to know

The limits, plainly.
