I want animation GIF to be usable.

Thank you for splendid application.
When I write an icon on a map, it may be hard to see an icon because a map is a color.
Because I can change an icon with much effort, I want animation GIF to be usable.

I'm sorry but animated gifs are not supported by google maps.

You mean you need a custom solution? Please write your requirements. So I can check if it is possible.

I gather Google does not support transparent icons as well.

I don't think so but you can try by uploading a transparent icon.
