KML Overlay not working.

Post by jknorst »

Don't know if it is the change to OpenStreetMaps or what. I just added an overlay file - http://www.knorst.us/kml/Denver.kml
but it is not appearing on the RTT Map or on my cell phone. Do I need to have Track Loading turn on?

Hang on a minute - I clicked on the option at the upper right corner of the map and then clicked on Google Maps. The map then switched to the development version of Google Maps and DID show the overlay. Is there a workaround for OpenStreetMaps?

Thanks,
Jack

I'm also interested in this solution. I've used this program for a few years now and had dozens of locations mapped with the KML overlay. I would really like to get that working again. Please let us know what we need to do. Thank you.

Okay, got my overlay working by using SSL. Added the following lines to the .htacccess
This is from my hosting company Bluehost.

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} 80
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://xxxxx.com/$1 [R=301,L]

where xxxxx.com is your domain name

The only problem I'm having now is the icons pointed to in the KML are NOT being displayed but are being replaced by a blue teardrop symbol.
I have changed the KML URL's for the hotel symbol to the OSM symbol at https://svn.openstreetmap.org/applicati ... dation.png but the blue teardrop still shows up. Heck, the route isn't even the correct color.

If you need it the KML file is at https://www.knorst.us/kml/Denver.kml

Any thoughts?

KML overlay works for me, but the track line is blue (not the color I wanted).

Admin....any developments on this? We really rely on seeing KML overlays. The old Google map used to show them, now neither one does. Your attention to this is greatly appreciated.

Mine is not working either. Tried an older overlay, didn't work.

Really need to apply an overlay, please help.

Deleted an earlier request due to the link worked when clicked on it in the post.

Great app. Love it. I know you'll get this bug corrected.
