Sometimes GPS data doesn't updates regularly. This happens while on mobile internet, but phone and app has internet access. All other services like viber and messenger are online and the app regularly sends battery info. See the screenshot. In some occasions gps data is not sent for several minutes, sometimes for several hours. Battery info is always send. When the phone comes to wifi network and auto connect, gps data is sent immediately.

The phone is LG leon and there are not any battery saver software or options active.

Can you please ensure that the phone has good GPS conditions. For best results check if it works if the phone has clear view of the sky.

Yes, when this occurs the phone is usually outside on open or in the car. But it seems to me that the program doesn't use the gps from satellites at all, but only positioning from the mobile network (A-GPS I suppose)

You can easily check if it is GPS or only A-GPS by looking at the accuracy circle around the tracked user. If the circle is green it is A-GPS, if it is blue it is GPS. Have you allowed GPS in your Android location settings?
