Re: Requesting for clarification
Having an issue; I had a 220 miles ride today & the journey was not tracked at all!! I'm 100% sure there was data & GPS signal because I've used the same route like 5-6 times in last 2 months & they were all tracked very well. This is the first time I'm taking this route after subscribing & I was little disappointed as why it wasn't tracked?admin wrote:Thanks for your positive feedback

Hm, I'm sorry to hear. Which time range is missing. Obviously there was a technical problem with the phone. As I have no physical access to your phone I cannot find out the reason, but I'm pretty sure that these problems are related to your phone model. I always strongly recommend to wait until the tracker has received the first GPS fix before starting a trip. Moreover the tracker should be periodically checked during the trip because there is always the risk of a technial problem.
Did you check the tracker during the trip? Did the map display your correct location. Did you see a track on the map?

There's almost no change from my end. Its the same phone, same route & even the same bike. Only 2 changes are date & time. BTW I made a guest password which didn't exist before. But that shouldn't matter, does it?
Anyway I'll make anotheranother trip & will ensure what you've said about the first signal (which I'm sure was taken care during the last trip too) but can't keep checking during the trip until my first fuel stop which is after 200 miles.
Hopefully it shouldn't happen this time, but if it does, we'll start from the password

well, the password does not matter for sure. Reading all your postings from this thread I noticed that you had similar problems a few weeks ago. You mentioned problems when data connection is off. Did you verify if the app continues to work when screen is off and phone in standby mode?

Re: Requesting for clarification
Would like to clarify - All issues solved; if at all any issue occurs, they're mostly due to phone (restart will help) or internet connection; the only catch here is that, if the phone hangs when there was no internet connection for about 10-15 minutes, then the phone has to be restarted in which case the captured data (before updating to the servers via internet) is likely to be lost.admin wrote:well, the password does not matter for sure. I however have not experienced phone being hung, but internet loss when switching between from one state to another. In which case, the server has outdated info on the server & users watching us will see no movement of our vehicle. However, after an hour or so the data will be made available
However on the phone, we will not be notified or experience any such info (that the data is not updated on the server), we will still continue to see our tracks

Re: Requesting for clarification
You can use the "GPS timestamp" and "Network timestamp" (scroll the statistics panel above the map to the right") to know if the phone could send all data to the server. Those timestamps show the recording time of the latest location that could be successfully sent to the server.

Re: Requesting for clarification
Thank you for educating, I'll check that next week & post an update here as my phone is damaged & is being serviced.admin wrote:You can use the "GPS timestamp" and "Network timestamp" (scroll the statistics panel above the map to the right") to know if the phone could send all data to the server.
Meanwhile, I've another question on the KML to CSV file output, should I discuss it here or open a new thread? Pls advice.
Below is the excerpt from one of my trip...
Time Latitude Longitude Altitude Bearing Speed Accuracy
2015-12-26T12:48:06+00:00 31.60154833 76.92047333 732.5 140.6900024 6.863306046 8.5

Please help me understand 2 things...
1. The interpretation of Bearing
2. For most of the data the Speed (in Kmph) recorded is no way practical + the highest speed recorded is 47 Kmph!! Considering the fact we did 2680 Km in less than 40 hours, we could no way accomplish that in these recorded speeds. So, would like to know what has possibly gone wrong & how can we obtain near accurate speeds?
Thanks
RG

Hi,
GPS reports speed as "meter per second". You have to multiply by 3.6 to get kmph. Bearing is the current direction reported in degress ( 0 - 360). 0 means "north", 90 means "east", 180 means "south", and 270 means "west".
