Anyway, it seems we have to search for different solution.
I did that, I see the change of the icon to green, but no text is displayed. I'll make a video later on the day.
In the meantime, some notes about my system, maybe that rings a bell on why it's not showing text:
Phone: Sony Z1 compact
Rom version: Cyanogenmod 12.1 nightly 20151129
Language: Portuguese (also tested with US English)

Well I meant the the notification bar, which you can see only while screen is unlocked. You can see a special message there when the viewers change. By the way, have you tried to enable "Vibrate on viewers"? Will your watch vibrate as well when the phone vibrates. This way you would at least know that something has changed.

That was in the unlocked screen...

But anyway, I found a workaround. I installed the app "automate", and set a flow to detect notification changes on RTT2 app.
As soon as it detects, it creates a new notification and that is correctly sent to the watch.
So for now it works for me.
